Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW)

MnDOT was seeking public input on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for project 2 of the I-494 construction occurring in 2027-2030, that will make improvements to I-494 from West Bush Lake Rd. and 24th Ave.

The public was invited to submit comments for the EAW during a 30-day public comment period from Tue, April 14 to Sat, May 16, 2026.

Location description of EAW

The proposed project is in Hennepin County in the cities of Bloomington, Edina and Richfield and the unorganized territory of Fort Snelling. Work in Bloomington extends along I-494 between West Bush Lake Rd. and 24th Ave. and work in Richfield is between Knox Ave. and Hwy 77. Work in the Fort Snelling Territory extends along the north side of I-494 between Hwy 77 and 24th Ave. The railroad siding relocation area is located approximately 2.25 miles to the south between I-35W and 98th St. in Bloomington. The only portion of the project in the city of Edina is underground pipelining near West Bush Lake Rd.
