Hwy 60/71 roundabout design (view full-size map)
In 2027, a roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Hwy 60 and Hwy 71 on the south side of Windom. Funding for the project was awarded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) to improve intersection safety.
Summary of work
- Construct a two-lane roundabout at the intersection of Hwy 60 and Hwy 71 on the south side of Windom
- Install intersection lighting
- Restripe Hwy 60 to four lanes in the project area
- Remove 1st Ave. access
- Resurface bridge over Des Moines River
- Add sidewalk connections to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety, and comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
