Summary of work
Aitkin County was awarded Transportation Economic Development (TED) Program funding to construct a roundabout at the west junction of Hwy 210 and Hwy 65 in McGregor. MnDOT is the lead agency on this project, which will improve safety and traffic mobility at the intersection.
Traffic impacts
There will be a detour for a portion of the project.
Public meetings and updates
A public meeting is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the McGregor Public Library (111 E. Center Ave., McGregor, MN)
Roundabout information
The Utah DOT Traffic and Safety division produced an informational video on roundabouts (YouTube). It showcases the benefits of roundabouts (especially the safety benefit) to a wide variety of audiences. Roundabouts are not the perfect solution at all intersections, however, in the right locations, roundabouts can be a very safe and efficient way to move not just motor vehicles but pedestrians and bicyclists, too.
