Option 1: Central Ave. Northeast at 37th Ave. will feature:
  • A northbound bus lane which ends just north of Reservoir Blvd.
  • One lane of traffic in each direction with turn lanes to turn onto and off of 37th Ave.
  • A path for bicycles and pedestrians on both sides of Central Ave. that is separated from the road by a boulevard.
  • Northbound platform for F Line bus rapid transit (BRT) Central Ave., just north of 37th Ave., and southbound F Line platform just south of 37th Ave.
  • A raised concrete median to separate northbound and southbound traffic.
  • Closing southbound access from Reservoir Blvd. to Central Ave. to allow just northeast bound traffic to enter Reservoir Boulevard off Central Ave. Pedestrian and bike access is maintained.
  • No on street parking, as exists today.
Central Avenue Northeast at 37th Avenue option one proposed changes

Proposed changes include converting from two through lanes to one; adding a northbound bus lane, improved transit stops, a separated shared use path, a center median; and implementing an access change at Reservoir Blvd. so northbound vehicles can turn from Central onto Reservoir, but southbound vehicles on Reservoir cannot turn onto Central Ave.
