2026-2027 roadwork

MnDOT will reconstruct and improve Hwy 95 from Fern St. to Fillmore St. in Cambridge. Project will be done in three work segments with detours in Cambridge.

Current impacts

Prep work fall 2025 - spring 2026

Crews will be out preparing for the future construction project, includes: relocating utilities, removing structures and trees/brush, surveying, etc.

Summary of work

  • Expand the four-lane segment from Fillmore St. to Ashland St., includes sidewalks and adjacent entrances
  • Reconstruct from Fern St. to Ashland St., includes sidewalks and adjacent entrances
  • Replace underground storm sewer and utilities
  • Upgrade signal systems, overhead streetlights and install fiber optic cable
  • Reconstruct the BNSF railway crossing

Future impacts, work plans

Hwy 95 will be constructed in three segments over two construction seasons in 2026-2027. The project begins on the west end and moves eastward.

Local access will be open and maintained along each closed segment by using adjacent side streets, second entrances, temporary driveways or alleys. Pedestrian access will also change; follow detour signs.
