Closures planned at intersection of Highway 51/Snelling Avenue and St. Clair Avenue in St. Paul, beginning Friday, May 30
ROSEVILLE,  Minn. – As work wraps up on the intersection of Highway 51/Snelling Avenue and  St. Clair Avenue in St. Paul, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will  close the intersection of Snelling Avenue and St. Clair Avenue beginning early  Friday, May 30 to complete work on the intersection. MnDOT will close the  intersection beginning at 6 a.m. Fri., May 30 until around 6 a.m. Sun., May 31.  The intersection will remain open Sunday, June 1 to accommodate traffic for  Grand Old Days. 
          
The  intersection will then close overnight from 9 p.m. Mon., June 2 until 6 a.m.  Tue., June 3 and again from 9 p.m. Tues., June 3 until 6 a.m. Wed., June 4 when  work is complete.
          During  the closures, motorists on Snelling Ave. will follow a signed detour using  Grand Ave. or Randolph Ave. to Hamline Ave. 
          St.  Clair Ave. traffic will follow a signed detour on Fairview Avenue to Randolph  Avenue to Hamline Avenue. 
          Construction  began last year with resurfacing of a half mile of Snelling Ave. between St. Clair Ave. and Grand Ave. The  project included building bump-outs and ADA-compliant crossings at all  intersections between St. Clair Ave. and Grand Ave.
      
This  year’s work wraps up on Wednesday, June 4 with replacement of the signal system  at the intersection of Snelling Ave. and St. Clair Ave., along with resurfacing  of the intersection and installing ADA-compliant crossings.
