Off-road work may occur year-round.

Hwy 10 open

  • Road open to one lane each direction from 620th Ave. to Oink Joint Rd.
    • Roundabout open at Hwy 10 and Otter Tail Co. Rd. 92
      • Expect lane shifts, reduced speeds, temporary signage
        • Note road surface: north side of the roundabout is paved with permanent concrete, while the south is temporarily paved with asphalt. Be extra cautious when road conditions are slippery
        • Use Co. Rd. 92 to access the Hospital and ER

  • All lanes open, includes adjacent entrances, sidewalk and pedestrian trail north of Hwy 10
    • Note trail open to pedestrians only: no motorized vehicles allowed

Access to those who live, work or visit areas along this project will be open and maintained at all times. However, expect these changes:

  • Hard closures at times; contact businesses ahead of time and enter nearest your destination
  • Use of a side streets, alley or back/side entrances
  • Gravel or grooved surfaces or temporary entrances
  • Pedestrians will have sidewalk closures with detours

June - late October

Hwy 10 west of Wadena Co. Rd. 20
  • Construct two lanes of new four-lane on west end
    • Replace underground structures, construct lanes, medians and entrances, includes north entrance/J-turn at Co. Rd. 75 and half of the roundabout at Co. Rd. 92 at the hospital
Hwy 10 east of Hwy 71
  • Off-road or shoulder work may occur
    • Expect workers building up road along Hwy 10 for future westbound lanes near Oink Joint Rd. on the west end

Expect major construction on Hwy 10 west of Wadena at 620th Ave., Otter Tail County, to east of Wadena at Oink Joint Rd./140th St., Wadena County in 2025-2027.

Mid-June - mid-October

Hwy 71 north of Hwy 10
  • Reconstruct Birch Ave. N to Elm Ave. N
    • Reconstruct road and install underground storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main
    • Remove pedestrian tunnel at old hospital
    • Update or install sidewalks and pedestrian ramps
  • Resurface Elm Ave. N to north of Alfred St.
    • Underground drainage structures
    • Center left-turn lane to north of Alfred St.
    • Sidewalk/trail to Alfred St.
