MnDOT will reconstruct and expand segments of Hwy 95 between Fern St. and Fillmore St. in Cambridge, Isanti County; includes underground city utilities, accesses and sidewalks.

Summary of work

  • Expand the four-lane segment from Fillmore St. to Ashland St., includes sidewalks and adjacent entrances
  • Reconstruct from Fern St. to Ashland St., includes sidewalks and adjacent entrances
  • Replace underground storm sewer and utilities
  • Upgrade signal systems, overhead streetlights and install fiber optic cable
  • Reconstruct the BNSF railway crossing

Future impacts, work plans

Hwy 95 will be constructed in three segments over two construction seasons in 2026-2027. The project begins on the west end and moves eastward.

Local access will be open and maintained along each closed segment by using adjacent side streets, second entrances, temporary driveways or alleys. Pedestrian access will also change; follow detour signs.
