Current impacts, work
Information is subject to change. Project update (July 31)
Through traffic detour
Hwy 55 closed between Brown Ave. and Annandale Blvd. until mid-October
- Detour: Wright Co. Rd. 3, County Rd. 39, Hwy 24 and Co. Rd. 6 (PNG)
- Important note: MnDOT urges drivers who are just passing through to use the detour. This helps keep Annandale accessible and makes travel smoother within the work area.

Local traffic
Hwy 55 open only to those who live, visit or work in Annandale; however expect these changes:
- Gravel surfaces, narrow lanes with no shoulders, lane shifts, slow or stopped traffic with flaggers controlling traffic, and heavy equipment entering and exiting work areas
- Pedestrian sidewalk closures, follow signs, usually on alternate side of road
- Expect segments of hard closures at times to work on access or structures beneath the road; follow signs to next available access
Work
Hwy 55 Brown Ave. to Poplar Ave.
- Crews continue to reconstruct the west end of the project from Brown Ave. to Oak Ave. Expect changes and lane shifts in this area through mid-October.
- Access closed to/from Excelsior Ave. until mid-August
- Crews will reconstruct the road approaches, curb/gutters, sidewalks and underground storm sewer. When reopened, the intersection will remain an all-way stop until they connect the new signal system in September.
Hwy 55 Poplar Ave to Annandale Blvd.
- Work is completed on the northside of Hwy 55. Crews are now working on the southside road surface and drainage. When complete in early October the widened road will have a new center left turn lane.
