MnDOT to host open house for Hwy 65 Mora improvement project

BAXTER, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the community to an open house March 11 to learn about planned improvements for Hwy 65 in Mora.

Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2026
Time: 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Location: Mora City Hall, 101 Lake St. South, Mora, MN 55051

Attendees can explore detailed maps and project information, including plans for four roundabouts, intersection upgrades and new pedestrian crossings. The open house kicks off the design phase for the project and reflects findings from the Hwy 65 and Hwy 23 corridor study that was completed in 2024. There will not be a formal presentation, so guests may come and go at their leisure.

MnDOT plans to reconstruct Hwy 65 in 2030-2031 to improve access and connections, including portions of Hwy 23. Project improvements include single‑lane roundabouts, city utilities and continuous pedestrian facilities with enhanced crossing systems.
