Public invited Nov. 20 to learn about Highway 74 Whitewater State Park project
ELBA, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public information meeting on Nov. 20 at the Whitewater State Park visitor’s center to learn more about the Highway 74 culvert replacement work that is scheduled to occur next summer, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
MnDOT staff and others will provide information about the project at the meeting, and people will have the opportunity to ask questions, gather information and provide their thoughts about the project.
When: 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Where: Whitewater State Park visitor’s center, 19041 Highway 74 Altura, MN 55910
Format: No formal presentation is planned. A project website will be active and updated with information from the meeting for people unable to attend.

Project details
Construction is scheduled from July to November in 2026 along Highway 74 in Whitewater State Park to replace two culverts that cross the highway within the park. Traffic detours are required for the work to be safely completed. Culverts will be replaced one at a time, so park goers, staff and travelers have access to the park sites.
