Interstate 94 to temporarily close between Alexandria and Osakis on June 11
DETROIT LAKES, Minn.— Starting at 9:30 p.m., on Wed., June 11, Interstate 94 will close in both directions between Alexandria and Osakis while the beams for the current bridge replacements are delivered and installed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
During the evening closure, traffic will be detoured to Highway 29, County Road 46, County Road 82 and Highway 27. It is expected to last for approximately four hours.
In addition, the Burgen Lake Rest Area on westbound I-94 near Alexandria, will close at 6 p.m. on June 11, prior to the road closure, as travelers will not be able to access the rest area during this work. The rest area will reopen when I-94 reopens.
MnDOT is replacing two eastbound bridges, east of Alexandria, over the railroad and over County Road 23. Traffic is head-to-head in this area through August. For more information about the overall project, visit the project website at mndot.gov/d4/projects/alex94bridges.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.
