Hwy 61 traffic delays likely at Withers Harbor Nov. 8 during road work

RED WING, Minn. –Highway 61 motorists at Withers Harbor in Red Wing will encounter lane closures Wednesday, Nov. 8 and possible traffic delays when a subcontractor does concrete grinding work on the approach to the bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Lane closures will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through mid-afternoon during the work, meaning traffic will still be able to travel through, but there will be one lane closed in one direction as crews complete their work. The construction work is related to the Highway 61 Withers Harbor bridge project in Red Wing that wrapped up major work for the season this fall.

Full construction is scheduled to resume in 2024. Crews replaced the northbound bridge this year and will replace the southbound bridge over Withers Harbor Drive in Red Wing in 2024.
