Public invited Nov. 9 to learn about I-90/Hwy 52 interchange reconstruction near Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public is invited to attend an in-person public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 9 to learn more about a project to reconstruct the Interstate 90/Highway 52 interchange southeast of Rochester, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Join us any time from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Southeast Service Cooperative’s Wood Lake Meeting Center,  210 Wood Lake Drive SE, Rochester, MN 55904. People attending the meeting can learn more about the interchange design, planned improvements, construction staging, detour information, and project schedule.

People unable to attend the in-person meeting will be able to review information and displays from the meeting afterward on the project website and provide comments on the plans. Construction will occur 2024-2026.

MnDOT is planning to replace the I-90 bridges over Highway 52, construct a new ramp for southbound Hwy 52 to eastbound I-90, reconstruct all ramps and loops and replace large culverts under interchange ramps.

The project is expected to improve safety on the interchange ramps and intersections, increase clearance under the I-90 bridges over Highway 52 and improve traffic flow and reduce traffic delays through the interchange, which is a busy commuter and freight route.

MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.  If you need an ASL, foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720 or 1-800-657-3774 (Greater Minnesota); 711 or 1-800-627-3529 (Minnesota Relay).

To learn more about the project, visit the MnDOT project website, where you can also sign up for email and text message updates, review information and follow up after the meeting.

Stay connected, informed
