Highway 15 Dassel to Kimball detour comes down October 6

WILLMAR, Minn. – The resurfacing and culvert project on Highway 15 from Dassel to Kimball will be complete and the detour removed by the end of day October 6, weather permitting, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

About this project

MnDOT resurfaced Highway 15 from the intersection of Highway 12 in Dassel to the Meeker/Stearns County line near Kimball. Guardrail near the Kingston bridge was replaced as part of the project. Also, 30 culverts were lined along the project area and three culverts were replaced. A chip seal and permanent striping will be applied to the new pavement in early summer 2024.

Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface and improved drainage. Duininck, Inc., was the project contractor and the cost was $11.5 million.
