Resurfacing/ADA project on Hwys 75 and 40 in Madison nearly complete

WILLMAR, Minn. – Construction for the resurfacing and ADA project on Highways 75 and 40 in Madison has been completed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Punch-list items and cleanup will be completed by the end of next week and tree planting begins the week of Oct. 9.

About this project

The project included resurfacing Highway 75 from north of the junction with Highway 40 to 8th Street, and resurfacing Highway 40 east of the junction with Highway 75 to Western Avenue. Sidewalks and pedestrian ramps along the project area were updated to meet current Americans with Disabilities standards. To complete the project, new trees are being planted to replace those that were removed.

Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface and compliance with ADA standards. Duininck, Inc., was the prime construction contractor, and the project cost was approximately $3.1 million.
