Overnight closures of Hwy 169 in New Hope/Plymouth begin Aug. 21

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Starting Monday, August 21, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close Highway 169 overnight in both directions in New Hope/Plymouth. These overnight closures, which will continue through 5 a.m. Friday, August 25, are necessary so construction crews can begin setting beams for the County Road 9 bridge that crosses over Highway 169.

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday, August 21 through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, southbound Highway 169 will close between I-94 and 36th Avenue. Crews will also close southbound Highway 169 in the same area from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22 through 5 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23.

Then from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23 through 5 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, northbound Highway 169 will close between I-394 and 49th Avenue. Northbound Highway 169 will close again in this area from 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 through 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25.

Motorists can use I-94, I-494 and I-394 as detour routes during these overnight closures.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
