Lane closures on westbound I-94 between Rothsay and Fergus Falls begin Aug. 16

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Starting Wednesday, Aug. 16, weather permitting, motorists traveling on westbound Interstate 94 between Fergus Falls and Rothsay will encounter reduced speeds and lane closures until early September, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Crews will be repairing and replacing concrete panels in the westbound lanes near mile posts 41 and 42, between Fergus Falls and Rothsay. The work will take place first in the right lane, then crews will switch to the left lane. There may be times where no workers are present while concrete is curing.

PCiRoads is the prime contractor for the $230,000 emergency repair project.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
