Eastbound I-94 ramp and lane closures in Washington County begin July 13

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter ramp and lane closures on eastbound Interstate 94 in Woodbury on Thursday, July 13 as part of the I-94 Oakdale to St. Croix construction project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 13, the entrance ramp from Woodbury Drive to eastbound I-94 will be closed to traffic through mid-November. Motorists can bypass the ramp closure by using westbound I-94, Inwood Avenue/Radio Drive and eastbound I-94.

The ramp closure is part of a traffic shift that will move eastbound I-94 traffic to the west side of the interstate to allow construction crews to pave the eastbound lanes of I-94.

Starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13 through 5 a.m. Friday, July 14, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane of traffic between Woodbury Drive and the St. Croix River to complete the traffic shift. Then, both directions of I-94 will continue to be reduced to two lanes in this area through fall 2023.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.

MnDOT will be resurfacing the pavement and making other improvements to I-94 between Highway 120/Century Avenue and the St. Croix River through fall 2024. The work will improve safety, traffic flow and ride smoothness.
