MnDOT to host July 13 public meeting for Hwy 12 project in Willmar

WILLMAR, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting an in-person public information meeting to introduce a future Hwy 12 resurfacing project in Willmar and gather input from the community. The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 13 at the Willmar Public Library, 410 5th St. SW. The public is invited to stop by at their convenience from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

There will not be a formal presentation. MnDOT staff will be available to discuss the project, gather input from the public, and answer questions. People who are unable to attend can still provide feedback by visiting the Hwy 12 project website and clicking a link to the Hwy 12 online survey.

About this project

The project is located on Hwy 12 in Willmar from 11th Street Southwest to 6th Street Southeast. MnDOT is planning to resurface the roadway, reconstruct and widen sidewalks, and reconfigure the roadway from four to three lanes with a center left-turn lane. These changes are recommended to enhance safety for drivers and pedestrians.

Construction is currently planned for 2029; however, MnDOT is seeking opportunities to move construction up.

Alternate language/materials

MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
