MnDOT to host public open house on June 26 for the Highway 13 Montgomery construction project

Construction expected to begin early July

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house on Monday, June 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Montgomery City Hall, 201 Ash Avenue Southwest, to learn about the upcoming Highway 13 project through Montgomery and prepare for construction expected to begin in early July. There is no formal presentation planned, and people are welcome to arrive anytime.

Staff from MnDOT will be present at the open house to provide more information about the project and answer questions.

MnDOT will replace approximately 1.2 miles of pavement on Highway 13 through the city of Montgomery and construct a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 13/Le Sueur County Road 28. The project also includes modifications to accesses, updating sidewalk, and installing snow fence.

Traffic impacts

Construction is expected to begin in early July and be complete by late October. Construction of the roundabout at Highway 13/County Road 28 and the section in front of Tri-City United Public Schools is expected to be complete in early September, weather permitting. Highway 13 from Montgomery to Le Sueur County Road 29 will be closed during construction and traffic detoured.  Visit the project website for detour information.
