Northbound I-35W reduced to a single lane overnight between 46th St. and 40th St. starting June 13

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 through 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will reduce northbound I-35W in Minneapolis to a single lane between 46th Street and 40th Street. This lane closure is necessary so crews can relocate a crane currently being used as part of the I-35W storm water storage tank project.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead and allow extra time to reach their destination. All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.

MnDOT is constructing six underground storm water storage tanks east of I-35W in Minneapolis between 42nd St. and 40th St. The tanks will help reduce flooding by collecting and storing excess storm water while the drainage system catches up, and then release the water gradually through drainage pipes to the Mississippi River.
