Crack sealing on state hwys begins June 12 in Rice County, watch for crews working; additional work planned in Steele and Fillmore counties

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists travelling on Highways 21, 30 and 250, in Rice, Steele and Fillmore counties should plan for extra travel time beginning Monday, June 12 as crews begin crack sealing work to help preserve state roads, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Delays should be minimal through the work zone. On two-lane roads, motorists will take turns using the single open lane while being directed by flaggers. On four-lane roads, there will be lane closures. Crack sealing work will take place in both directions of the road.

Work is scheduled on state roads in Rice, Steele and Fillmore counties. Work begins northwest of Faribault and will proceed, as weather permits.

Highways scheduled for crack sealing work include:

  • MN 21 near Shieldsville southbound to Faribault
  • MN 30 eastbound of Ellendale
  • MN 250 northbound near Lanesboro and Arendahl

All work is scheduled to last eight working days and expected to finish Wednesday, June 21, weather permitting.
