Additional lane closures on Hwy 200 started this week

Motorists will encounter lane closures, pilot car and flaggers near Roy Lake

DETROIT LAKES, Minn.— Motorists traveling on Highway 200 will encounter additional lane closures, flaggers and pilot cars near Roy Lake, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. On Monday, June 5, contractor crews started on the culvert replacement in this area. Once that’s complete, they will begin the work to modify the road alignment and install a shared-use path.

Construction resumed on Highway 200 in May, as crews returned to finish up the remaining 2 miles of shoulder widening east of Mahnomen that started last summer. The shoulder widening work is ongoing, with daily lane closures and flaggers east of Mahnomen, and is expected to wrap up by mid-June.
Motorists are urged to slow down in the work zone and obey traffic control.

The overall project included shoulder widening, pavement repairs, bridge and culvert replacements, turn lanes, and other safety and pedestrian accessibility improvements. For more information about the project, visit mndot.gov/d4/projects/hwy200.
