Pedestrian/bicycle sidewalk, crossing ADA improvements begin Monday, May 15 in downtown Minneapolis

Roseville, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin work on sidewalks and curb ramps along SE 4th Street between Central Avenue and SE 8th Avenue beginning Monday, May 15. The improvements will upgrade these areas to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. During the project, construction crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. There will be no impact to motorists although on-street parking will be prohibited near the work area. Pedestrians and bicyclists will encounter short-term, several day closures and alternate routes during repairs to sidewalks, approaches and crossings.

Work will begin on the north side of the street at the intersection of SE 4th Street and SE 2nd Avenue and move down the street to the intersection of SE 4th Street and SE 8th Avenue. When construction is completed on the north side of SE 4th Street, work will switch to the south side of the street.
Weather permitting, work will be completed in early June.
