  • Hwy 25 closed between Hwy 27 and 123rd St. in Genola.
    • Detour (PNG) uses 143rd St. Genola/Pierz and Co. Rd. 239 (270th Ave.) north of Buckman
    • Co. Rd. 254 (133rd St.) access closed. Use Hwy 27 and Co. Rd. 36 (Lake Rd.)
    • Through work zone expect alternate one-way traffic with flaggers. Be prepared to stop and wait
    • Work to occur Mon-Sat, daylight hours, on good weather days

North of Pierz

  • Hwy 25 open and work complete between Co. Rd. 39 (Third Ave.) in Pierz and 273rd St. south of Shepard

Please stay alert for farmers, trucks and other slow-moving vehicles entering or exiting Hwy 25 during the fall harvest season.

About this project

Crews will resurface 14 miles of Hwy 25 north and south of Pierz and replace three bridges over waterways in Morrison County.

Summary of work

  • Resurface 14 miles of asphalt road, includes turn lanes:
    • Morrison/Crow Wing County line at 175th St. to north Pierz at 4th Ave.
    • South junction Hwy 27 at Pierz/Genola to 123rd St. south of Genola
  • Replace three bridges (box culverts) over Platte River and Wolf Creek
  • Replace or repair drainage pipes under road, includes ditch work
  • Update guardrail
  • Install road markings and rumble strips

Future impacts

Late September to mid-October

After the drainage structure work is complete, crews will resurface the asphalt during daylight hours. Travelers will encounter:

  • Reduced speeds
  • Segments of alternate one way traffic with flaggers and use of a pilot car
  • Be prepared to suddenly stop or slow down
  • Those entering the work zone must wait and follow the direction of the pilot car
  • Good weather is necessary to complete this work
