ArcGIS Cartographer Seeds Student Worker

Location: Roseville

Description:

The Office of Transportation System Management's Geographic Information and Mapping Section (GIM) seeks a student worker to assist with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects to support transportation work across the state. In this role, you will help transition maps into ArcGIS software to provide accurate, accessible, and current geographic information.

Primary Tasks:

  • Support map production and visualization efforts by creating maps using ArcGIS tools while following the template and branding standards
  • Assist with GIS data maintenance and quality control by reviewing data sets for accuracy, performing data edits and spatial analysis, and supporting the maintenance of metadata
  • Contribute to GIS communication, documentation, and outreach activities through organizing and updating internal training resources and preparing updates, summaries, and user group materials
  • Learn MnDOT GIS standards and practices through hands-on projects and mentorship

eLearning Seeds Student Worker

Description:

MnDOT's eLearning Services seeks a student worker to create engaging web-based learning content, including eLearning modules, tutorials, step-by-step job aids, graphic design, video, and other electronic media for the eLearning team.

Primary Tasks:

  • Work directly with the eLearning team and clients to determine eLearning course objectives, target audience, and scope
  • Research and apply instructional design methodologies (ADDIE/SAM) ensuring participant engagement
  • Manage eLearning projects from start to finish by developing materials, creating content, and working with clients to review and improve eLearning projects

The Office of Sustainability and Public Health (OSPH) seeks a student worker to assist with data management, communications, and project support with a focus on integrating National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grant data into a grants management system.

Primary Tasks:

  • Reconcile data from multiple sources to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Support mapping displays of information by providing accurate information and verifying map results

MnDOT’s Bemidji district office seeks a student worker to assist with researching tax records and legal documents, database entry, and archiving land records for Land Management. You will perform para-engineering land management activities ensuring operations and program delivery requirements are accomplished.

  • Research tax records and landowner contact information
  • Research legal documents on real estate acquisition
  • Entering real estate information into the state database program

Right of Way Seeds Student Worker

Description:

MnDOT’s Detroit Lakes district office seeks a Right of Way student worker to provide administrative support to the Right of Way and Permit sections. You will create and maintain files and records for right of way acquisitions, help prepare right of way packages, and assist in the district peritting process.

Primary Tasks:

  • Produce right of way layouts and plats according to standards and compile supporting documentation for the preparation, compilation, and submittal of right-of-way packages
  • Prepare existing right of way files for construction projects
  • Assist in conveyances, turnback, leases, limited use permits, access control changes, and exhibit preparation for compliance

Description:

MnDOT’s Bemidji district office seeks a student worker to work in with Bemidji or Crookston to assist the district's Traffic unit and Traffic Engineer. You will gain hands-on experience, understanding, and knowledge theough traffic-related assignments, projects, meetings, and safety reviews..

Primary Tasks:

  • Collect traffic-related data using various computer software to obtain crash statistics and review technical reports to help develop activities for projects, respond to public concerns, and the district's traffic safety efforts
  • Collect and process field data including traffic counts, speeds, sight distances for traffic studies and the annual traffic count program
  • Evaluate work assignments for safety hazards and mitigates any safety risk, notifying supervisor and co-workers of any hazardous conditions
